Biography
My name is Meredith, and I am a designer and sustainable apparel merchandiser based in Charleston, West Virginia. I have had a passion for ethical fashion since I was a teenager.
At West Virginia University, I started with a major in Computer Science. I learned technical skills and coding before deciding tech wasn’t the right path for me. I switched programs to Design Studies and from there, I learned graphic design, fashion merchandising, interior architecture, business, and more applied design skills. Fashion is my primary field of study; my goal is to start my own sustainable fashion brand.
I currently reside in my hometown in West Virginia and am seeking remote work or relocation opportunities. I have experience working in the fashion industry, and am available for creative jobs or freelance hiring.
My areas of expertise
Visual Design
I create original graphics and illustrations for all of my projects. My education equipped me with knowledge of the aesthetic principles of design, and I am able to render visuals as needed.
Fashion Merchandising
I am passionate about sustainable and ethical fashion; I have dedicated my academic pursuits to addressing issues in the garment supply chain to create a better, more equitable fashion business.
Architecture & Development
I have designed inhabitable spaces as part of my studies. I am able to render structures in 3D as well as illustrate plans, elevations, and diagrams of physical environments.
Communications
I am educated in marketing, advertising, written communications, and public speaking. Additionally, I have achieved professional levels of fluency with Spanish language courses.
